SCITT or GTP best for jobs?

Postby DreamBig on Wed Jan 30, 2019 7:01 pm

Hi all

I've been accepted on a SCITT in Outstanding Primary Schools course and a GTP based in a school that was rated as good in it's last ofsted.

I need to make a decision sharpish on which route I want to train and would appreciate any viewpoints on which route is best for future career. I know there is more money with the GTP route but I do want to focus on which route gives me the best opportunity of getting a good job afterwards.

Some people I have spoken to have said it doesn't matter which route I take and that it is simply getting qualified teacher status that counts (which suggests the GTP is the way to go because of the funding) but I would have thought that training in an outstanding school compared to a good school would put you in a better position for getting a better job. I know ofsted is not always a good indicator but from what I have seen of the schools the quality of training at the outstanding school would be much better.

Any advice would be welcomed

Thanks
