QTS Standards
From the 1st September 2007, the Standards for all Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ITT (Initial Teacher Training) programmes have been finalised.
the standards provide a framework for teachers to review and plan their training and development throughout their careers.
The QTS standards set out the following:
- the Secretary of State’s standards, which must be met by trainee teachers before they can be awarded qualified teacher status (QTS), and
- the requirements for training providers and those who make recommendations for the award of QTS.
